Desfile da Força Expedicionária Brasileira (FEB) em Lisboa 1945 - Brazilian Expeditionary Force

Por ocasião do retorno, em 1945, de um dos efetivos que integravam a Força Expedicionária Brasileira (FEB), o Navio de Transporte de Tropas (NTT) norte-americano que realizava o retraimento das forças febianas da Itália para o Brasil, aportou em Lisboa, antes de cruzar o Atlântico Sul. O filme produzido por profissionais portugueses da Cinemateca e excepcionalmente bem preservado é um raríssimo registro imagético das tropas brasileiras que participaram da 2ª Guerra Mundial no continente europeu. O Cel Tarso Fragoso era o oficial brasileiro mais antigo das tropas brasileiras embarcadas no NTT. Coube à Unidade denominada Depósito de Pessoal (DP) da FEB desfilar pelas ruas da capital da República Portuguesa naqueles primeiros dias de outubro. Interessante observar que a Polícia de Exército e a Banda da FEB também participaram da parada militar, bem como efetivos e viaturas do Exército de Portugal. No evento, a FEB, representada pelo DP/FEB, foi laureada com a mais alta condecoração militar de Portugal. Este resgate da memória institucional só foi possível pela generosidade dos pesquisadores portugueses, oficiais historiadores do Exército Brasileiro e do Exército de Portugal, bem como dos responsáveis pela guarda deste filme, que anonimamente autorizaram sua divulgação.

On the occasion of the return, in 1945, of one of the personnel that were part of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB), the North American Troop Transport Ship (NTT) that carried out the withdrawal of the febian forces from Italy to Brazil, contributed in Lisbon, before crossing the South Atlantic. The film produced by Portuguese professionals of the Cinematheque and exceptionally well preserved is a rare image of the Brazilian troops who participated in the Second World War on the European continent. Cel Tarso Fragoso was the oldest Brazilian officer of the Brazilian troops embarked on the NTT. It was up to the Unit called Personnel Depot (DP) of the FEB to parade through the streets of the capital of the Portuguese Republic in those first days of October. It is interesting to note that the Army Police and the FEB Band also participated in the military parade, as well as troops and vehicles of the Army of Portugal. In the event, the FEB, represented by the DP / FEB, was awarded the highest military decoration in Portugal. This revival of institutional memory was only possible because of the generosity of Portuguese researchers, historian officers of the Brazilian Army and the Portuguese Army, as well as those responsible for the custody of this film, who anonymously authorized their disclosure.
