Sauriya Pahariya | Tribes of India

Prasar Bharati Archives presents Tribes of India series. The Sauria Paharia people (also known as Maler Paharia) are a tribal people of Indian states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar.

They are found mostly in Santhal Parganas region in the Rajmahal Hills. Sauria Paharias practice shifting cultivation, called jhum. They lead family lives.
