Marvin von Hagen is a student at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). As Co-Founder & Project Lead of TUM Boring, he recruited 65 students to participate in Elon Musk’s Not-a-Boring Competition.
Defying the skepticism of industry experts, the TUM Boring Team successfully engineered and built a functioning 22-tons-heavy and 12- meter-long tunnel boring machine from scratch. Out of 390 teams worldwide, they could win the Not-a-Boring Competition finals in Las Vegas against competitors such as ETH Zurich and MIT.
In his TEDx talk, Marvin von Hagen will talk about their journey and what motivated them to work day and night for over a year. Marvin von Hagen is an undergrad in Management & Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich. Previously, he has worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM), led External Relations at the TUM Speakers Series, and was Co-Founder & Project Lead of TUM Boring, the student initiative he will talk about in his TEDx talk. After studying a semester abroad at the Reims Campus of Sciences Po Paris, he is currently working as an Analytics Intern at Tesla's EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
