I created this video to show how I fix pits in resin. I have noticed that many people seem to have the same problem. This is the method I use. I am sure there are other ways to go about fixing this problem. I also cover how to finish off the back of your artwork, how to store your artwork and how to hang it. I hope this helps. I am happy to answer any questions. If you have any further suggestions feel free to add them in the comments.
Some tips for layering resin and acrylic paint:
Layering acrylic paint then resin: I recommend wiping the acrylic paint surface (carefully with small amount of isopropyl alcohol- do not rub the acrylic paint as it will come off. Or just with a dry cloth.) and spraying with UV varnish before a resin layer is applied. I also recommend the same preparation of the surface of resin before applying an acrylic paint layer- of hand work or an acrylic paint pour.
Layering resin: I recommend always cleaning resin surface with isopropyl alcohol, sanding layers of resin, and using UV Varnish before new layers of resin are applied.
Safety: Work in a well ventilated room. Always use a mask and glasses when working with resin- mixing, pouring or sanding. Make sure you sand resin outside. Do not put the flame of the butane torch too close to resin- use a low flame. Have a fire extinguisher and fire alarm close at hand.
Thank you for watching.
