Historian David Starkey says the professor who is quitting her post at the University of Sussex over her views on gender identity was driven out by "masked students".

"They dance up and down and say we've killed the witch, the witch is dead."

He says wokeism is "obliterating the whole of our past and the whole of our culture" and is caused by a "the notion of a general rejection of reality".
