The scriptures declare the land of Braj to be the holiest of places in the universe, as the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna, performed His pastimes in this sacred land, 5000 years ago.

* Mathura - The birthplace of Lord Krishna and the capital city of the warrior kings of the lineage of Lord Krishna.
* Vishrama Ghat - 'Vishrama' means 'rest' and 'Ghat' means steps leading to the sacred river. It is said that Lord Krishna took rest at this spot along the river Yamuna after killing the tyrannical King Kamsa.
* Gokula - Among the 12 forests of Braj, the first and foremost is the forest of Mahavana. Mahavana is also called Gokula.
* Nanda Bhavan - Nanda Bhavan was the residence of Nanda Maharaja, the father of Lord Sri Krishna.
* Ukhal Bandhan – Lord Krishna got the name 'Damodara' because Mother Yashoda tied little Krishna's belly with ropes, to a grinding mortar. This sweet pastime of motherly punishment took place here.
* Brahmanda Ghat – The place where Lord Krishna showed the entire universe within His mouth to a stunned Mother Yashoda.
* Raval - Raval is a small village five miles southeast of Mathura. It is one of Srimati Radharani's special abodes and also the place where She appeared.
* Baldeo - About 25 Km from Mathura is the town of Baldeo, famous for the Dauji temple.
Maharaja Vajranabha, Krishna’s great-grandson, installed the deity of Balarama here.
* Madhuvana - When the child Dhruva set out in search of the Lord, Narada Muni recommended that he go to the bank of the Yamuna in the Madhuvana forest. Dhruva Maharaja meditated and underwent severe penances and austerities there on the hill Dhruva-tila.
* Talavana - Talavana forest is famous for its sweet and aromatic palm trees. Here Lord Balarama killed Dhenukasura, the donkey demon.
* Bahulavana - Krishna descended here just to test the truthfulness of Bahula, the cow who had fallen prey to a tiger.
* GOVARDHANA - Govardhana parikrama stretches for 23 Km. The most sacred of pilgrimage places in the universe are found along the Govardhana parikrama.
* RADHAKUNDA / SHYAMA-KUNDA
Radha-Kunda and Shyama-Kunda are sacred ponds near Govardhana Hill personally created by Radharani and Krishna following the slaying of the bull-demon Aristasura
