This lesson has something in it for any musician at any level of playing:
📍The Form: 00:00 - 06:30
When soloing, you must FEEL the form of the song all the time, which means that you have to know what chord you are improvising over at any given moment. At a higher level, you should also be able to go back to the melody at any given moment.

📍 The Shapes: 06:30 - 08:40
Visualized shapes give you the freedom to move from one chord to the next in a melodic and creative way. Here we focus on three simple Triad shapes to get you started. Later, you can extend it to cover your entire fingerboard.

📍 Anatomy of Melody: 8:40 - 11:00
The musical context of your melodic ideas. Music is a language. We speak in sentences and that helps us make coherent statements. Music is the same. You should divide your solo into musical sentences if you wish to convey an interesting story in your solo.

📍Motifs: 11:00 - 12:40
Each musical idea that you repeat at least twice is a motif. We love hearing motifs because they give us a musical context that is easy to relate to (Just like poetry). Any composition is made of a sequence of Motifs and this is a very powerful tool to use in your solos.

📍Melodic Ideas: 12:40 - 13:45
to create interesting melodies, we can add some melodic ideas to the basic shapes we visualized before. Here I demonstrate Half Tone Approach for each note and Enclosures (16:00-18:00).

The Etude: 13:45 - 25:47
📍A unique composed solo over the 12-Bar Blues progression that put it all together. It demonstrates how to improvise over the blues with only three shapes in a coherent structure by using musical sentences, motifs, HalfTone Approach and Enclosures.
