Main USSR / Russian Meal for the New Year’s Eve and Christmas Celebration

Fast, simple, easy to cook, and dearly loved by Russian people and many other post-Soviet nations - this is all about Olivier Salad (how we call it in Russia) or Russian salad (how the other world calls it). This is the main meal for the New Year's Eve celebration that is always flooding Russia at the end of December so I’m glad to share a part of my culture with you since it’s that time of the year.

THE RECIPE:
for 3-4 people
3 eggs
3 potatoes
1 big carrot
250-300g of sausage
1 can of green peas
2-6 pickles depending on the size
mayonnaise
salt

Boil eggs, potatoes, and a carrot, and leave to cool down. Open the peas, drain the water, and leave them open to dry a bit. Cut all the ingredients into little cubes, add peas and mix to see if everything is enough. Add salt and mayonnaise. Decorate with greens on top and enjoy💛
