Floating Gates - A Chillwave / Synthwave Jam

About the title:
I noticed lots of synthwave tracks are named after electronic devices, so this is no different.
Floating gate transistors are one of those things you own millions of nowadays, without even knowing it: They are a key component of flash memory (like USB-Sticks and SD-cards). Because their "gate" contact is not connected to a specific voltage level, it can drift freely. It's "floating". Infact, moving their potential around is how bits can be stored in the memory cell.

But all that aside, I just thought it made for a nice song name. ;)

About the setup:
Keys, pad and bass are played on the Blofeld. The drums are on the QY100. Both get some reverb from the Specular Tempus, but it's used more sparingly on the drums, of course.

As for the MIDI routing, that's... complicated.
You may have noticed that I can control the drum part with the "sound selection" knob on the reface, which hints to some black magic going on behind the scenes.
Which it is. I'll try putting it into words anyways, perhaps someone will find it useful.

The drums are actually triggered by a drum sequencer I coded myself. Said sequencer is running in my DAW, is controlled with CC signals from the reface, and sends its data out to the QY100.
Keys and bass are passed on to the Blofeld pretty much as they are. The pads however are triggered with a DIY chordizer using the bass notes as input.
The off-key note I intentionally play at the very end is a signal for my plugins to stop playing, and is thus filtered out and silent.
