Nezhmetdinov defeats the Vienna Gambit in 15 moves

Описание к видео Nezhmetdinov defeats the Vienna Gambit in 15 moves

Featured is a game played at the 1929 Kazan City Championship between Samsonov and Rashid Nezhmetdinov. With a dynamic opening like the Vienna Gambit, it shouldn’t come as a big surprise to have a decisive result after only 15 moves. Samsonov neglects king safety with his queen pursuing material gains on Nezhmetdinov’s queenside. Once Nezhmetdinov eliminates the key elements that prevent his queen from pouncing, the game is brought to a sudden and beautiful end with the always aesthetic smothered mate!
