Alex Murdaugh in court Tuesday before the evidentiary hearing to decide if he should get a new trial based on allegations of jury tampering by Colleton County Clerk of Court, Becky Hill, who is currently at the center of an ethics investigation led by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Former Chief Justice Jean Toal will preside after Judge Newman recused himself from any future proceedings related to the defense motion.
