Muhammad Ishaq (1933–2013), a renowned Pakistani Islamic scholar, emerged from humble beginnings in Lyallpur. Initially inclined towards mathematics, he later delved into religious studies, mastering several languages to understand religious texts. Despite working the fields, he pursued learning and received guidance in various disciplines.

Transitioning to religious duties in mosques, he gained popularity for his compelling Friday sermons. With a unique style, he offered opinions on religious matters, combining tradition with pragmatism and logical reasoning. His expertise and open-mindedness earned him respect across different Islamic schools of thought.

Ishaq emphasized unity within the Islamic community and advocated for focusing on authentic Hadiths rather than weaker ones. He encouraged scholars to approach differences in opinions impartially and base their judgments on authenticity rather than the influence of a particular school of thought.

Despite criticism for not aligning completely with any single sect, he advocated love and respect for all Muslims and emphasized the importance of scholarly integrity in interpreting religious texts.
