Описание к видео Physiotherapy after Hip Replacement : Deformity correction

Deformities are an integral part of long standing hip arthritis. Ankylosing Spondylitis is usually associated with the thighs fixed outwards i. e. Abduction deformity and AVN (Avascular Necrosis) of hip is associated with thighs fixed inwards ( adduction deformity ). Though there can be variations.
Just replacing the hip is not good enough to give the patient normal gait. We have to correct the deformities also. Some correction are done during the surgery and rest is taken care of by post operative exercises. Here the role of family and physiotherapist is paramount.
Dr Ashwani Maichand, specialist MIS Hip Replacement, New Delhi, India explains the whole process.
