This is a very short overview of molecular testing basics. It covers the main types of molecular tests pathologists use in practice, when we use them, and why we use them. The lecture was aimed at dermatologists, but it is applicable to medical students, junior pathology residents, or non-pathologists who want to better understand how and why we use certain types of molecular tests. This video was originally presented at the 2022 Atlantic Derm virtual meeting.
