Part 4 the vet visit

Описание к видео Part 4 the vet visit

so as expected there is something wrong with the foal

we did a "snap" test - which is a blood test that checks if the foal has/had colostrum
and she tested as very low
so this requires her to need an IV solution of plasma
which is filling her full of antibodies(perhaps haha I am only repeating what i think i heard)
to help her build and maintain her immune system working.
Plus after she was there for a few hours they suggested that we do a week of antibiotics twice a day to fight off infection.
so she is going to be better but not out of woods yet.

we get this Question all the time: WHY does this happen?

there is afew reasons, but mostly what we have found is that whenthe mares are foaling out, the stallions go hormonal and start fighting and then pushing the mare before she is even done birthing her baby. Usually the foal is in the cross fires, often injured, or sick, or combo.

every foal we have found needed immediate attention and or interventing by a vet.

we have also humanly euthanised foals due to severe injuries.

welcome to our page.

if you would like to support the foals (or in the case the first filly of the year) we have Paypal: Camilleshorses, etransfer; [email protected]
or can even help you do direct payment to the Vet clinic that the foals go too..we have HUGE bills for the foals at the vet clinic each year.
