Nine people have died after a matatu they were in rolled off Ushirika Road and landed in the Mbagathi River in the Gataka area of Karen. Six people died on the spot, while three succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Nineteen others were injured and rushed to various hospitals in Kajiado and Nairobi counties. And as Ben Kirui reports, the bus was not roadworthy, and the driver, who is among the fatalities, was not the regular driver but one of the so-called "squad" drivers.
