How to Get Loan From Your Investments?

Loan against securities is a loan where you pledge your investments like PPF, Bank FDs, Shares, Mutual Funds etc. as collateral with the bank against your loan amount. The amount of loan you are eligible for depends on the value of the securities you offer as collateral. A PPF account holder is eligible to avail a loan after the third financial year, until the end of the sixth financial year. The loan against your PPF account comes with an interest rate of 1%. PPF Account balance does not earn any interest during the loan tenure. When banks sanction loans against FD they may charge 2%-3% higher interest rates than the existing FD interest rate. You can avail about 80% to 90% of your fixed deposit value as a loan. Loan against your mutual fund depends on the type of mutual fund scheme you have invested in and the bank from which you intend to borrow.
