Alberta Premier Danielle Smith shares details about a new compensation model for nurse practitioners. She is joined at the news conference in Edmonton by provincial Health Minister Adriana LaGrange and Nurse Practitioner Association of Alberta president Jennifer Mador.

Through the Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Program, eligible NPs will receive approximately 80 per cent of the compensation given to family physicians. Practitioners will also be able to work independently in primary care clinics or open their own clinic.
