Nick Herbig: Ultimate 2022 Season Highlights

Nick Herbig heads to the NFL after dominating the edge all season for the Badgers, racking up a Big Ten-leading 11.0 sacks. A Second Team All-American (CBS Sports, Walter Camp), Herbig led the nation with a 1.0 sacks per game clip.

Herbig’s 15.5 TFLs ranked first in the Big Ten and 18th in the nation in 2022. He started 31 games in his Badger career, recording 36.0 tackles for loss and 21.0 sacks, ranking T-8th in program history in QB takedowns.

Herbig led the nation with 1.0 sacks per game in 2022, the most for a Badger since Tarek Saleh posted a 1.08 clip in 1996 (14 sacks in 13 games). Only Herbig, Saleh and Tom Burke (1998, 1.83) have posted sack per game averages of 1.0 or better in a single season in program history.
