Is the Fender Player Stratocaster GOOD? [and is it an "entry level" guitar?]

For my Presets visit: https://johnnathancordy.gumroad.com/ Part of the response to the Silver Sky SE I have seen is that a) The Fender Player Series is very competitively priced and b) £850 is not 'affordable' or entry level. So I wanted to try a Fender Player Stratocaster to try for myself what they're like to play, what they sound like, and come to my own conclusion about whether they're worth the money.

Personally, I still think £550-600 is closer to "mid-priced" than an "entry level" guitar - but I'd be interested to know your thoughts on that?
