Ashok Leyland’s Gun Towing Vehicle is a Heavy duty vehicle catering to a wide range of applications, dedicated to operating in different terrains under extreme weather conditions.

It is fitted with an indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured drivetrain engine, 9-speed GB, 2-speed AGB, Hub reduction axles, and pneumatic brakes with ABS that provides excellent mobility and manoeuvrability.

Primarily The Dhanush 155mm/45 calibre Howitzer or 155 mm SHARANG artillery gun is towed by GTV 6X6 It also carries ammunition and artillery crews. It combines all-terrain mobility and invincible protection and offers superior performance.

This military truck is equipped with a 2.7 T capacity hydraulic hoist for self-loading and unloading of ammunition. The vehicle has a constant all-wheel drive and is fitted with a central tire inflation system, to suit different terrain conditions. The vehicle is also fitted with a self-recovery winch.

In this, Independence day Special Feature of Gun Towing Vehicle vehicle, GTV 6X6, test and drive has been done by us on the auspicious occasion when India is celebrating 75 years of Independence.
