The fate of London mayor Sadiq Khan hangs in the balance with the latest projections indicating he may have won a slim victory.

But the future of Tory West Midlands mayor Andy Street is unclear.

The Conservative Party suffered its worst electoral defeat in years in Thursday's local elections.

It lost more than half of its councillors who stood for re-election across England.
