Kyōganoko Musume Dōjō-ji ("The Maiden at Dōjō-ji Temple") was first performed by Nakamura Tomijūrō I in 1753 at the Nakamura-za theatre in Edo, and it has become one of the most important pieces of the modern kabuki dance repertoire.
