How To Invest Consistently and Build Your Portfolio

Описание к видео How To Invest Consistently and Build Your Portfolio

The way I built up my portfolio was by investing consistently over time. But what does that actually mean? How often did I invest? How much money did I invest each time? What is the right way to invest consistently and build up your portfolio?

In this video, I’ll not only answer what I did but also give you some tips on how you can create your own plan to invest consistently too.

So you’ve probably heard of dollar cost averaging by now. (This isn’t a video on dollar cost averaging but it makes sense to mention it since by investing consistently you’ll be buying over time rather than with a lump sum).

For me when I started investing in shares, I would save up $1,000 (sometimes $2,000), and when I had saved that amount, which was usually monthly I would invest it. I would also invest any other money I came into - so tax returns, if I sold anything substantial (I sold a car during that time) and so on.

How much you invest on a consistent basis is going to come down to how much you can afford to invest. The fewer expenses you have the more money you’ll free up. I was very frugal during this time, even foregoing a holiday that my friends took, so I could save and invest my money instead. I knew it would pay off in the future and I was patient.

You'll need to have a consistent schedule, a consistent amount, and a plan on what companies or funds (ETFs or index funds) to buy.

Make it a habit and keep doing it and let time do its magic.

That’s how you consistently invest in the stock market and reap the rewards.
