Syracuse's Kamilla Cardoso Named ACC Freshman Of The Year

Syracuse freshman Kamilla Cardoso has been named ACC Freshman of the Year by the leagues' Blue Ribbon Panel. Cardoso was also named Co-Defensive Player of the Year with Georgia Tech senior, Lorela Cubaj. Cardoso led the ACC in blocks per game with 2.8, and field goal percentage at 59.5%. The 6'7" center was the Orange's 2nd leading scorer at 14.3 points per game and ranked 2nd in the ACC in offensive rebounds per game with 3.5. Cardoso is the first Syracuse women's basketball player to earn the freshman of the year honor.
