This is the video for ‘Debenture’ explained in Nepali language based on the Syllabus of NEB for Grade XII (Faculty: Management and Subject: Account). In this video, we have discussed the journal entries for issue and redemption of debenture.

What is Debenture?
It is one of the debit instruments that is not secured by collateral or physical assets. Corporations and even governments can issue this type of bonds. A company can raise a big amount from debenture which it can utilize for its expansion and initiation of a new project. There are two types of debentures: convertible and non-convertible. Convertible debentures can be converted into equity share capital whereas non-convertible debentures cannot be converted into equity of the issuing corporation.
Regarding the exam marks, this chapter normally carries 4 marks in the NEB. This chapter is normally less-time consuming compared to other chapters.
