Professor Scraton, as part of the Independent Panel, led the investigation into the Hillsborough Disaster, culminating with the Report published in September 2012 (http://hillsborough.independent.gov.u.... In December 2012, Professor Scraton was awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Impact Prize for his work in relation to the project and continued involvement with the families of those bereaved.
