Northeast Ohio weather forecast: That summer-like feel is back

Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for May 1, 2024: The calendar just flipped over to May, but the weather pattern will flip over to June/July over the next five to seven days as we warm up, increase our humidity and bring daily storm chances in by the weekend.

Let's start with today. What a gorgeous day we have in store! Sunshine with intervals of high clouds can be expected with highs returning to those summer-like levels in the upper 70s to low 80s. Humidity will remain low today, so it will be quite comfortable!

We turn slightly cooler tomorrow as a weak front settles south of us. Winds will be off the lake, so we'll have cooler temps near the lakeshore -- otherwise the rest of us will get into the mid 70s for highs with sunshine and a few clouds.

Our next storm system approaches from the west on Friday with increasing clouds and storm chances later in the day. This frontal boundary will stall over the Ohio Valley -- and with various waves of low pressure heading up and along this frontal boundary, we'll have daily storm chances Saturday through much of next week. Humidity will be with us as well beginning late Friday through next week. It will certainly feel like summer.
