SILLS ARGO - ARGO ICE RECOVERY

Описание к видео SILLS ARGO - ARGO ICE RECOVERY

Here at Sills Argo we are always trying to educate enthusiasts on how to use their Argo to its full capacity.

Lots of Argo Enthusiasts are using their machines for ice fishing. Well, the biggest question is..."what happens when and if you go through the ice?"

Well, its happened to us, and I assure you, you will want to panic! BUT always go out on the ice prepared...(I was not the first time it happened to me!)

So I've thrown a little mock video together to help better prepare you. It is always hard to predict when/if you will go thru the ice, and it will never happen the same way twice, so I have used an open spot in a pond to help with this video.

Make sure your plugs are in! Take something to chisel a hole in the ice (hatchet, chisel, chainsaw, or even your auger), throw a grapple hook or piece of wood (wood floats) into the back so that you can winch onto something. Take your time!

The first time it happened to me, I did not have anything but a rope and a brave friend! I tied the rope around my brave friend and he pulled on the winch from a safe(-ish) distance away.

If you are an avid ice fisherman, I would recommend to have a rear winch kit installed on your Argo. It is nearly impossible to get out with winch pulling from the front.

Please note that this is in no way a 'tutorial' on how to get back onto the ice, just a suggestion from one Argo enthusiast to another! Sills Argo encourages the safest possible route!

Wear a PFD! Its not dorky or uncomfortable when its saving your life!
