This IPM inverter tester was invented in 2010, then improved and resized in 2015.

. As seen as a black box that has 6 leds with Discharge button and 1 switches to turn off 3 low side IGBTs, there is another 1 switch to change testing mode from 3 phase U-V-W to the function of testing each IGBT individually inside the IPM module.

The improved version is still being use as a universal tester as it works on all brands of inverter air conditioners.

This 2015 improved version overcomes problem of low voltages at starting up that most of the commercial brands are lacking and not displaying.

The Daikin, Refco and other similar ipm (or Compressor checker) testers are designed for R22 IPM decades ago and can not test high frequency inverters in modern air conditioners that runs on R410R and especially latest refrigerant type R32.

Problem undetected when using old testers are: If one igbt is miss-fired or missing , one channel is 5 to 10 volts less than the others, high frequencies IPM models , lacking of +B300Vdc residue discharging function preventing damages to the IGBTs.
